Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and François-Frédéric Guy in tune with Yamaha CFX

Yamaha's flagship CFX concert grand scored a remarkable first when Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and François-Frédéric Guy both selected the instrument for the recording of the upcoming 'Transcriptions' for pianos CD on the prestigious Chandos label.
 
Both artists have also selected the Yamaha CFX's for a series of launch concerts to be held at Atout Livre in Paris,  London’s Wigmore Hall and Les Solistes a Bagatelle, also in Paris.
 
Bavouzet's version of Jeux is, like any fine transcription, far more a momento of the original and provides exceptional and intimate interplay between the two pianists, lines and motifs bouncing between them.
 
‘In Full Flower’, the first of the Two Pictures by Bartók, is often taken as his most Debussian composition thanks to his exploration of new scales and harmonic worlds. However, in bringing out its luxuriant and blossoming Hungarian aspects, Zoltán Kocsis emphasises rather its fully Bartókian character, which Bavouzet has conveyed to wide critical praise. 
 
The thundering and the bells of the two Yamaha pianos in full and accurate fury make Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du printemps hardly less forceful in the hands of these two dazzling and virtuosic pianists with the Yamaha CFX instruments.

     
François-Frédéric Guy comments "During this great recording session I was absolutely amazed by the homogeneity of the two pianos which remains always a hard challenge for such a recording. The legendary outstanding quality of CFX keyboard combined to the impressive projection of the trebles and gorgeous round medium and bass was ideal for this 20th century programme which asks the biggest dynamics and colours range possible. A taste of perfection somehow!"
