Yamaha expands presence at 2018 NAMM show with more than 90 new products and 'All-Star Concert on the Grand'
ANAHEIM (January 25, 2018)—Yamaha, the world’s largest musical instrument manufacturer, will introduce more than 90 new products at the 2018 NAMM Show to be held January 25 to 28 in Anaheim, California, USA.
The Yamaha booth is again occupying an exhibition hall the size of a football field in the Marquis Ballroom at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel. At www.yamaha.com/namm, the company is presenting a steady stream of new products and bringing more than 50 live performances direct from the “Heart of Inspiration” stage to music fans around the world.
Yamaha is also promising an unforgettable multimedia, multi-artist extravaganza with the “Yamaha All-Star Concert on the Grand 2018” set to crank up the volume on Friday, January 26 beginning at 6 p.m. on the NAMM Yamaha Grand Plaza Stage. Yamaha will power the entire plaza with the company’s award-winning commercial audio gear, including the Rivage PM10 Digital Mixing System and NEXO line array speakers.

At this year’s show, the Yamaha Keyboard division is showcasing the Clavinova CSP-150 and CSP-170 digital pianos, the world's first instruments that can be operated via smart tablet and teach users songs via interactive "Stream Lights" above each key. Also on display is the CLP-695GP, the finest sounding CLP Clavinova in luxury Grand Piano design yet. For the first time Genos, the most advanced Digital Workstation keyboard ever imagined will be shown along with new PSR-S775 and PSR-S975 workstation keyboards. As best entry keyboards for performing various styles of music, PSR-E463 and PSR-EW410 will be introduced.
Yamaha SX Series grand pianos will now be available with the Disklavier ENSPIRE PRO system, integrating the company’s premium family of handcrafted grand pianos with the most advanced and highest-resolution reproducing piano technology in the world.
Bösendorfer is unveiling enhanced versions of the acclaimed Vienna Concert piano models 214VC and 280VC, both of which feature integrated reproducing systems from the ENSPIRE PRO series. The company is also debuting the Dragonfly grand piano, the fourth in a series of special edition marquetry pianos.
The Band & Orchestral division is introducing the YCL-CSVR-ASP and YCL-CSVRA-ASP clarinets for professionals, and the YTR-9335VSII, a limited edition, second-generation model trumpet designed in consultation with world-renowned trumpet virtuoso, Allen Vizzutti.
Venova is a “first”—an innovative, "casual wind instrument" that's compact and lightweight, offering a pleasing tone and recorder-style fingering. Yamaha is also demonstrating the 9000 Series Impact Drums, which provide punchy, deep tones and excellent projection, as well as a simple, yet versatile mounting solution for a wide range of set-ups and marching applications.
The Commercial Audio division is debuting the DXS12mkII and DXS15mkII portable powered subwoofers, which provide clean, punchy, loud low-end to musical groups and venues. Also on display are the STAGEPAS 400BT and 600BT portable integrated PA systems that improve upon previous models by adding Bluetooth® wireless audio connectivity from any Bluetooth-paired device such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, up to 33 feet away.
Yamaha Music Production today released MONTAGE OS version 2.0, the fourth free firmware update to its flagship synthesizer line which adds full Voice and Performance compatibility with recent MOTIF series instruments, additional control and workflow improvements.
Yamaha Guitars is unveiling the FG TransAcoustic—two groundbreaking guitars that combine the durability and affordability of the top-selling FG and FS series instruments with award-winning Yamaha TransAcoustic technology.
Yamaha is also reintroducing their classic CSF line of acoustic parlor guitars with upgrades in sound and construction typically seen in larger or premium guitars, yet still affordable and portable enough to suit both casual players and seasoned professionals.
Finally, two additions to the company’s popular TRBX series of electric basses, the TRBX604FM and TRBX605FM, as well as six bold new colors for the Revstar line of solid-body electric guitars, will be on display in the booth.
Yamaha Drums is showing the Tour Custom Maple drum set, designed for today's actively working drummer looking for a versatile kit suitable for both recording and live playing. Also on display is the EAD10, the first-ever stand-alone acoustic drum module system that enables drummers to capture the sounds of an acoustic drum set easily with a single microphone/trigger component attached to a powerful digital processor.
Steinberg is featuring a full range of new product offerings, including WaveLab Pro 9.5 and WaveLab Elements 9.5; Cubase Pro 9.5, Cubase Artist 9.5 and Cubase Elements 9.5; Cubasis 2.3 and Dorico 1.2.
In what has become a highlight of the NAMM Show, Yamaha Music Education System will present inspiring free performances by young composers at its annual Junior Original Concert (JOC), to be held at 1pm on Thursday January 25, 2018 on the Heart of Inspiration stage in the Yamaha booth. All NAMM badge-holders are invited to attend.
Three talented Yamaha Music School students—Kaya Baird, age 8, a student at Irvine Yamaha Music Center, Irvine, California, Jonathan Hartanto, age 12, a student at Bergen Yamaha Music School, Fair Lawn, New Jersey and Ty Promreuk, age 15, a student at East Valley Yamaha Music School, Chandler, Arizona—will each perform an original composition on a Yamaha N3X AvantGrand Hybrid Piano.
