Yamaha Launches Atelier Special Model Line with CSVR-ASP Clarinets
Yamaha announced the debut of the YCL-CSVR-ASP and YCL-CSVRA-ASP clarinets, extending the appeal of Yamaha clarinets to the highest level of professionals.
The incredible success of the company’s Custom CSVR clarinets, introduced in 2015, have led to a revitalization of the line of Yamaha clarinets that continues with the SEVR, CSGIII and now the Atelier Special model CSVR-ASP clarinets. Players needing nuance at the most exacting levels will benefit from the consistency, quality and performance of the Atelier Special model clarinets.
For example, redesigned keys have a thicker silver-plating that allows for more comfortable and ergonomic hand placement and a new barrel design promotes a well-balanced response with rich tonal colors.
“Yamaha’s precision and dedication to quality brings us a new version of the CSVR – a clarinet with the evenness of tone and wonderful pitch that all clarinet artists should expect, and a polished sound and refined smoothness that is truly gratifying to play,” said Julie DeRoche, professor of clarinet and chair of the Department of Music Performance at DePaul University. “The new CSVR Atelier Special model is just that – special. Yamaha is taking their clarinets to a new level.”
According to Brian Petterson, wind instruments marketing manager, Yamaha Corporation of America, savvy consumers demand more consistency, along with highly expressive and responsive performance qualities than is typical found in instruments from other manufacturers.
“It used to be that consumers would test many different units of the same model of clarinet just to find ‘a good one,’" Petterson explains. “Not anymore. The Atelier Special model clarinets provide quality of sound, easy response and accurate intonation at a level of consistency currently unavailable in this market. These fine instruments will fill this need for orchestral professionals, high level artists, and advanced university students.”
