Statement about your relation with Yamaha or your instrument:

My relationship with Yamaha and my instrument has always been very special and important to me. I started studying the trumpet during my childhood, and Yamaha has been a part of my musical journey ever since. My instrument has always accompanied me through different stages of my life and development as a musician. It has always been a very good and reliable relationship. I’ve always felt a strong connection and trust in my Yamaha instrument.

How does your instrument help you in your daily life as an artist?

My instrument is an essential part of my daily life as an artist. It allows me to express my emotions, communicate through music, and constantly develop as a musician. Practising and playing the trumpet is not only part of my work, but also a way for me to stay connected to myself and to my artistic identity. It gives me the freedom to explore new ideas, improve every day, and share something meaningful with others.

How would you characterise your instrument?

I would characterise my instrument as reliable, versatile, and inspiring. It has a beautiful and powerful sound, while also giving me the flexibility and control I need to express myself as an artist. I feel that it truly allows me to be myself musically, and after so many years of playing it, it has become an important part of my artistic identity.

Who was your most influential teacher and is there any advice which you still follow?

My most influential teacher has been Pasi Pirinen, who has supported and guided me throughout my musical journey, from my degree studies until the present day. One of the most valuable lessons he has always taught me is to “always enjoy what you play and be confident in your ideas.” This advice has had a profound impact on the way I approach music, both artistically and personally.

Advice for a young musician:

My advice to young musicians would be to always embrace and enjoy the learning process, remain patient, and never stop believing in yourself and your goals. There will be challenges along the way, but with dedication, perseverance and passion your hard work will lead you closer to making your dreams come true.
